ICL Job Description – Senior Agronomist ICL Africa 

ICL, a global manufacturer of products based on unique minerals, fulfills humanity’s essential needs, primarily in three markets: agriculture, food and engineered materials.

ICL produces approximately a third of the world’s bromine, and is the sixth largest potash producer, as well as the leading provider of pure phosphoric acid. Role’s purpose

To support and innovate uses of potash and other ICL/ICLSF fertilizers in sub-Sahara Africa

 

Main responsibilities

• Initiate and execute research and promotion work plans with customers and research/promotion cooperators :

1. set a detailed work plan 
2. manage budget
3. enable tangible deliverables
4. develop extensive research and promotion networking to enable sales

• Teaching, presenting, publishing  

1. involve in hands-on training of customers and ICL field agronomists in the continent  
2. present agronomy achievements
3. write and publish papers in peer review and general journals (English)

• Support ICL core agronomy research

1. provide agronomy skills to ag R&D efforts  
2. monitor evaluation tests for new materials
3. write and publish papers in peer review and general journals (English)

• Managing junior agronomists

1. Develop & Empower the People
2. Inspire and Motivate Teamwork
3. Create Personal Attachment

Requirements

 

Education

MSc or PhD in Agronomy / Soil science (PhD is an advantage)

 

Experience

10 years

 

Knowledge and Skills

• Experienced with hands-on on agri field work;
• Solid knowledge of fertilization, agronomy and soil science
• Experienced in agri field research
• Experienced writer and presenter
• Ready to travel extensively
• Fluent in professional English (oral, writing)
• Preferable experience in commercial/global company
• Preferable location: Kenya
