JOB TITLE; ZONAL MANAGER -LAKE ZONE (1 POSITION)
Purpose of the Job
Manage all Program technical and administrative requirements, contractual and compliance aspects of the MMB program in lake zone. Oversee project deliverables and implement sound internal processes; ensure program is managed in accordance with Donor and Country policy and procedures
Job Responsibilities
o Oversee Zonal Project Strategy and Performance
• Targets - CSE's, Stems produced, Stems sold, CSE's retained, Farmers buying stems
• Quality management - ensuring fields staying compliant, delivering quality
• Leading marketing efforts for region and Establishing a CSE marketing group
• Refining model as necessary - CSE size and numbers, market strategy to achieve performance goals
o Management of other staff in the lake zone team
• Their performance - motivation, coaching
• Staff annual review (with Field Project Manager)
• Ensuring compliance with MEDA procedures
o Administration
• Operation of Lake zone Office
• Representing MEDA in the local area business, government, other stakeholders
• Preparing monthly plans for the Lake Zone and staff
• Prepare monthly budget to correspond with activities in work plan
• Monitor expenses to budget - (staff expenses, vehicle, programming)
o Monitoring and Evaluation and general Reporting
• Ensuring timely and accurate Data collection at all sites
• Monthly progress Zone report - posting on SharePoint
• Tracking M&E against Performance targets and keeping Field Project Manager advised
Requirements
• Bachelors' degree in a relevant subject e.g. Agronomy, Agriculture general
• A Minimum of 5 years professional experience of working with Research, agri-business, marketing and farmer organizations in East Africa.
• Knowledge & practical experience of Cassava agronomy, Research, Plant protections, Value Chain Development
• Good command of spoken and written English; knowledge of one or more of the local languages (The Lake zone area) would be an asset.
• Good communication/social skills, Good familiarity, with the area the project/program is situated Knowledge of and experience of working with farmers
• Good knowledge about improved technologies in cassava Agronomy
• Excellent leadership qualities and experience.

POSITION; AREA FIELD FACILITATOR 3 POSITIONS (MWANZA 1, MKURANGA 1 AND RUFIJI 1)
The Area Field Facilitator will be responsible for providing technical support of the Commercially Sustainable; Quality assured Cassava Seed
Distribution System in Tanzania project and will provide technical input on the implementation of the project in Tanzania in a manner consistent with MEDA's philosophy and development methodology. The Area Field Facilitator will provide technical support day to day with the Commercial Seed Multipliers in the project area
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• To set up and establish 1st and 2nd generation private certified seed producers. Provide technical and business training as needed to ensure the target levels of seed production are achieved.
• To arrange commercially-based supply of seed down this chain and of growers and sale of certified seed to farmers.
• To conduct promotion activities aimed at creating demand of certified seed by farmers
• To monitor the activities of commercial seed grower to make sure they abide to the certification standards based on seed quality monitoring and QDS(Quaiity Declared Seed) certification protocol to be applied for branded 1 st and 2nd generation cassava seed multipliers
• Carry out routine data collection to track performance against key performance Indicators and Dissemination of lesson learned from pilot testing to inform best practice.
• Support the establishment of demonstration and training plots/sites Production and dissemination of training manuals, Linking farmers to seed markets and develop market demands)
Requirements:
• A Diploma or Bachelors' degree in a relevant subject e.g. Agronomy, Aqriculture general
• A Minimum of 4 years professional experience of working with Research, agri-business, marketing and farmer organizations in East Africa.
• Knowledge & practical experience of Cassava agronomy, Research, Plant protections, Value Chain Development
• Good command of spoken and written English; knowledge of one or more of the local languages (Mwanza, Rufiji, Mkuranga) would be an asset.

The Marketing and Financial Services Officer will be responsible for providing technical support for the Commercially Sustainable; Quality assured
Cassava Seed Distribution System in Tanzania project and will provide technical input on assisting Cassava seed entrepreneurs to establish and efficiently run a business association(s) that will create awareness on the importance of using certified cassava seed, offer and/or link certified seed dealers to services and products related to their business, secure and promote the quality of a brand for certified cassava seed and facilitate connects to financial products to members. He/she will identify and support the development of affordable financial services products to seed entrepreneurs and, if needed, build the capacity of financial' service providers in the project area. He/she will be responsible for the implementa- ion of their role within the project in Tanzania in a manner consistent with MEDA's philosophy and development methodology.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead and coordinate efforts to assist seed entrepreneurs in the establishment of a sustainable business association
• Develop, promote and launch association branding strategy
• Conduct promotional and educational activities in respective communities on the importance of using certified cassava seeds to generate demand for certified cassava
• Provide ongoing business support for the marketing association, identifying and developing strategies to address capacity gaps
• Conduct market assessment on the availability of affordable financial solutions for member seed growers, including identifying current constraints to potential and current seed growers and available financial products within reach of this market segment
• Develop market linkages between Marketing association and financial services institutions, processors and other potential seed markets, business service providers, etc
• Support the establishment of demonstration and training plots/sites, production and dissemination of training manuals
Requirements:
• Bachelors' degree in a relevant subject e.g. Business Degree, including Marketing, Economics or Financial Services.
• A Minimum of 5 years' professional experience working with agri-businesses, marketing arid/sales, brand management; practical experience organizing or leading a member's association
• Deep understanding of the financial services sector, with practical experience developing an~ promoting financial solutions in the agricultural industry
• Good command of spoken and written English; knowledge of one or more of the local languages (Mtwara) would be an asset.
