Position: Mechanical Engineer
WorkGroup: 4
Reporting to: Lead Maintenance Engineer
Duty station: Dar es Salaam
The incumbent of this position is responsible for providing mechanical service support within the factory necessary to optimize the efficiency of make pack machines. This encompasses the planning, supervision and execution of all activities related to installation, repair and preventive maintenance undertaken directly by factory or machine suppliers.
Main responsibilities
• Achieve stated goals and objectives relative to Make/Pack machines maintenance and performance as per required standard machine design.
• Ensure machines operates efficiently with minimum acceptable reject rate and make proper machine settings which will guarantee optimal material usage.
• Responsible for maintaining all Make/Pack machinery and equipment in compliance with applicable safety regulations.
• Make analysis on the spare part requirement and coordinate with other relevant department for the supply of the spare parts on time.
• Implement and maintain regular reporting necessary to ensure the effective control of the repair and maintenance activity and more specifically the monitoring of the machine efficiency and performance.
• The ability to organize, plan, co-ordinate and communicate are key elements for success in this position.
Qualifications and competencies
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute.
• Minimum 2 years work experience in a manufacturing organization in the field of mechanics.
• Fluent spoken and written English and Kiswahili.
• Competence in MS office word and excel.
