Tanzania Geothermal Development Company Limited (TGDC) is a subsidiary company of the Tanzania Electric Supply Company (TANESCO) established in December 2013 and came into operation in July 2014 with a mandate to spearhead geothermal resources in Tanzania.

d)    To promote geothermal business and developer of alternative uses of geothermal energy than electricity including watering cultures, therapeutic uses, geothermal bathing, drying of farm products and all industrial and non-industrial uses;

POSITION: ICT SERVICES OFFICER/SPECIALIST (1 POST) – REF: TGDC/HR/021
Reporting to:Director Corporate Affairs
Directorate: Corporate Services
POSITION OBJECTIVE
To provide Information and Communications Technology (ICT) services to ensure the cost effective and availability of all ICT requirements consistent with TGDC’s business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.    Develops and implement company’s ICT strategy and policy relating to ICT matters and to ensure adherence to organizational policies;
2.    Develop, implement, monitor and control user support procedures to ensure that all user support problems are addressed timely and effectively;
3.    Develop, monitor and control database systems (including GIS based database) to ensure easy access and retrieval of database information;
4.    Manage LAN/WAN to ensure all workstations are connected;
5.    Monitor and control systems (sever administration, accounting systems, email system, Internet, HR system);
6.    Manage the implementation of ICT projects to ensure that deadlines, deliverables and objectives are realized;
7.    Studies, designs and assists in the installation of computer systems/programs;
8.    Advises on the strategic direction of key ICT resources including websites and information databases as per the Government of Tanzania guide lines;
9.    Ensures that the Company ICT systems are maintained securely
10.    Any other related duties as may be required from time to time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•    Bachelor’s Degree in ICT/Computer Engineering or related field;
•    Five (5) years of working experience in ICT function in a reputable organization;
•    Post graduate in relevant field will be an added advantage.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
•    Knowledge and experience with networking environments, including LAN and WAN environments, use and management of firewalls, VPN, and dial-up and/or remote users
•    Excellent knowledge on hardware configurations and maintenance;
•    Pro-activeness, creativity, innovation, and team working;
•    Problem-solving skills, ability to analyze a case or situation and recommend solutions
•    Interpersonal and negotiation skills;
•    Flexible and ability to work independently;
•    Knowledge and experience in ICT Projects Management.

POSITION:GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS SPECIALIST (1 POST) –REF: TGDC/HR/022
Reporting to: Manager Geo Science Services
Division/ Directorate: Technical Services
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Integrate field geothermal datasets (geological, geophysical and geochemical) using ArcGIS software and produce state of art geothermal maps from different sites.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.    Creates, develops and maintains geographic databases showing locations of geothermal sites, exploited geothermal fields and other potential geothermal locations.
2.    The specialist must design and update GIS databases using various mathematics techniques, such as coordinate geometry, conversion of vectors and real analysis
3.    Gathers, analyzes, and integrates geospatial data and determine how best the information can be displayed using GIS
4.    Enters geothermal map data through use of a digitizer or by direct input of coordinate information using the principles of cartography including coordinate systems, longitude, latitude, elevation, topography, and map scales.
5.    Operates and maintain GIS system hardware and software.
6.    Designs and updates database, applying additional knowledge of geospatial feature representations
7.    Acquires, analyzes, compiles, evaluates, and reviews geospatial data
8.    Attributes, exploits, extracts, formats, manipulates, positions, and symbolizes geospatial information with high quality, accuracy, and currency of geospatial information produced in-house or in cooperation with contractors.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Geomatics, Geoinformatics or equivalent course from a recognized institution,
•    Five (5) years of demonstrable and relevant working experience
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
•    Demonstrated skills in the effective use and operation of ArcGIS for Desktop 10.1 and extensions.
•    Demonstrated skills in the effective use and operation of Autodesk, AutoCAD Map 3D or AutoCAD Civil 3D.
•    Ability to work effectively in CAD and GIS environments
•    Experience in spatial data acquisition and manipulation.
•    Good knowledge of geographic standards and coordinate systems
•    Knowledge of geographic data management (geo-database management)
•    Problem-solving skills and ability to analyse a case or situation and recommend solutions
•    Excellent communication (verbal and written).

POSITION: DRIVERS CUM MESSENGER (4 POSTS) – REF: TGDC/HR/023
Reporting to: Manager Finance
Directorate: Corporate Services
JOB PURPOSE:
To drive company vehicles and perform administrative activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.    Operates assigned vehicle in a safe and courteous manner;
2.    Keeps logs of their activities and makes sure the vehicle is maintained and it is always in good working condition;
3.    Performs preventative and regular maintenance on the vehicle;
4.    Maintains accurate, up-to-date records on trip sheets, transportation forms, vehicle maintenance, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested by management;
5.    Maintain mileage logs;
6.    Coordinates the schedule for major or periodic vehicle maintenance with management and staff to minimize service delivery interruptions;
7.    Timely collection and circulation (delivery and collection) of internal & external mail and other documents;
8.    Driving foreign experts/officers in various official endeavors
9.    Performs general basic administrative duties as may be required from time to time.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•    Form IV certificate (passed);
•    At least three (3) years of working experience in a reputable organization;
•    Clean valid driving licence class/category C and;
•    Driving Certificate from NIT or VETA.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
•    Ability to drive a multi-passenger vehicle safely and appropriately;
•    Must be able to read, write and speak English and Swahili;
•    Ability to prepare concise and accurate records and reports; extensive knowledge of the operations and features of assigned vehicle(s);
•    Ability to recognize vehicle maintenance needs;
•    Ability to perform minor vehicle repairs;
•    Applicants must be Citizens of United Republic of Tanzania and not above 35 years old
