Recruitment at SADC - April, 2015


Background
The Southern African Development Community (SADC) currently has fifteen Member States1 with a population of approximately 250 million people and a combined GDP of USD 467.3 billion (2006). The overall objective of SADC is to achieve development and economic growth, which is to be attained through increased regional integration, built on democratic principles and equitable and sustainable development.
It is following this background that SADC Secretariat wishes to invite suitably qualified, experienced citizens of SADC to apply for the following positions tenable at its Headquarters in Gaborone, Botswana:

Remuneration
The SADC Secretariat offers a competitive package for all the positions listed below.

Submission of Applications
Closing Date: Applications must be submitted to the SADC National Contact Point in the following respective Member States not later than or on 1 May 2015:
Angola, Botswana, DRC, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe
Please take note that due to the quota point system, citzens of all Member States mentioned above except Swaziland can apply for all twelve positions. Citizens of Swaziland can only apply for Officer Level positions on Job Grade 6 and 7. Citizens of Lesotho are not elegible to apply since Lesotho has currently exhuasted its quota points.
Your application should accompany the following:
  1. a short covering letter stating the position that you want to be considered for and describe how your qualifications, experience and competencies are relevant to the position;
  2. a detailed and updated curriculum vitae;
  3. certified copies of your degree(s), Diploma(s) and Certificate(s); and
  4. duly completed SADC Application Form.
Should you be shortlisted, you will be required to produce evidence of any educational and professional qualifications supporting your application, on the day of your interview.
