HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

Description

Undertake continuous job analysis and evaluations and recommend areas for job enrichment.

Details


(a) Basic Functions

(i) Responsible for human resources management and administrative systems in order to ensures that an adequate adherence to policies and procedures at work place

(ii) He/She helps to administers policies and activities designed to provide and maintain an adequate flow of qualified personnel for the NGO.

(iii) He/She is also responsible for coordination of administrative duties of the organisation.

(iv) He/She is a custodian of all staff personal records and HR related documents including statutes and regulations.


(b) Other duties and responsibilities

(i) Undertake continuous job analysis and evaluations and recommend areas for job enrichment.

(ii) Develop job recruitment proposals for approval, support staff recruitment process.

(iii) Maintain personnel records and update them continuously.

(iv) Prepare human resources development plan

(v) Invents and prepares a proposal to update staff incentive scheme

(vi) Administers wages and salaries policies and structures including staff upgrading proposals.

(vii) Establishes and supervises procedures to ensure staff appraisal is done by appropriate supervisors and line managers.

(viii) Administers leave and other staff scheduled routines

(ix) Advise Management on employment and labour relations matters

(x) Promotes a high level of employees’ morale among TAWLA staff by initiating programs to improve communication among employees.

(xi) Administers requirements of office supplies and facilitates procurement while controlling administrative budgets.

(xii) Formulates, recommends and ensures adherence to administrative policies and procedures including issuing of administrative regulations.

(xiii) Directs and supervises the development and maintenance of efficient office services, including registry, secretarial services, and mail and travel arrangements.

(xiv) Maintains a robust performance appraisal system.

(xv) Maintains daily staff attendance records for monthly time sheet.

(xvi) Must be computer literate.

(xvii) Must have good communication proficiency in both written and spoken English and Swahili.

(xviii) Performs any other duty assigned to him/her by the Director of Finance and Administratio


(c) Entry Requirements and Qualifications

Holder of first degree or Advanced Diploma in Human Resources Management with experience of at least 2 years, coupled with a good knowledge of administration of Labour Laws.

(d) Organizational Relationships

(i) Reports to: Director of Finance and Administration

(ii) Supervises: Administrative staff including Office management secretaries, Drivers, Receptionist, Office Attendants, etc

(f) Remuneration

A package within TAWLA’s salary scale will apply as monthly gross amount with a Social Security employer’s contribution as per statutory requirements. A health insurance scheme is also available.
