ARUSHA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE CENTRE
VACANCY

The Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC) was established under the Public Corporations Act No. 17 of 1969 by a Presidential Order through Government Notice number 115, published on 25th August, 1978. The Centre is wholly owned by the Government of United Republic of Tanzania and operates under the purview of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation.
The AICC was established to manage and control the Headquarters’ complex of the defunct East African Community in Arusha which belonged to the defunct East African Community. It also owns Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre as per Arusha International Conference Centre (Amendment) Order of 2014, dated 19th March, 2014; and provide facilities and services on the complex for purposes of conferences, meetings, seminars etc.

The Centre invites applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill in the below mentioned vacant post:-

1. HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATOR II (ONE POST)
Answerable to Senior Hospital Administrator
(a) Qualifications and Experience
Holder of a Bachelor Degree/Advanced Diploma in Public Health Services Administration, or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution with at least at least three years work experience in a similar position in a reputable organization/institution.
Must be Computer literate
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
i. Supervise all health working tools and other hospital resources.
ii. Coordinate budget preparation for health related activities.
iii. Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly activities implementation report.
iv. Interpret Laws, Regulations, Directives and other Government documents.
v. Ensure that good relationship between AICC hospital and its customers is maintained
vi. Coordinate referral administrative procedures to patients.
vii. Give administrative advise on day to day activities regarding health activities
viii. Prepare and implement development plans
ix. Educate health employees on regulations and working procedures
x. Coordinate the implementation of training program to employees at the Centre’s Hospital.
xi. Innovate techniques of improving working performance at the Centre’s Hospital.
xii. Supervise performance and health operations at the Centre’s Hospital
xiii. Prepare staff data base
xiv. Perform any other duties relevant to the scope of work that may be assigned by Senior Hospital Administrator

2. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OFFICER II (ONE POST)

Answerable to Senior Information Technology Officer
(a) Qualifications and Experience
Holder of Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Communication Technology or its equivalent from a recognized University/Institution with at least three years working experience
Must be specialized in Programing and well versed in PHP, JavaScript en databases such as MySQL and MS SQL.
(b) Duties and Responsibilities
i. Assist in the provision of technical advice on procurement of MIS equipment, hardware and soft ware
ii. Assist to prepare MIS regulations and guidelines
iii. Assist in installation and maintaining a modern Management Information System.
iv. Provide technical support in application of Information Technology.
v. Finding the causes of ICT systems problems and make necessary restructuring.
vi. Reporting and repairing ICT system problems.
vii. Attending daily ICT system problems and keeping records of maintenance.
viii. Recommending policies, standards and standard procedures for the controlling efficient use of ICT systems in the Centre.
ix. Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and manpower plans for the Information Technology Unit.
x. Maintaining records on the condition the ICT system performance in the Centre.
xi. Ensuring that required daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually reports regarding ICT activities are prepared on time
xii. Researching and producing specifications
xiii. Designing and writing new software programs;
xiv. Testing new programs and fault finding;
xv. Developing existing programs by analysing and identifying areas for modification;
xvi. Integrating existing software products and getting incompatible platforms to work together;
xvii. Creating technical specifications and test plans;
xviii. Preparing training manuals for users
xix. Maintaining systems by monitoring and correcting software defects;
xx. Investigating new technologies;
xxi. Performing any other duties relevant to the scope of work that may be assigned by the Senior Information Technology Officer.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Terms of Employment: Permanent and Pensionable for Hospital Administrator II; but Contract for Information and Technology Officer II
Remuneration:
An attractive package commensurate with the qualifications and relevant experience will be availed to the successful candidate.
