The European External Action Service (EEAS) is looking for experienced, multi-talented, service oriented and highly-motivated staff to work in the Delegations of the European Union as Heads of Administration.
The EEAS is the European Union's Diplomatic Service. It ensures that all the different activities that the EU performs abroad are consistent and effective and helps the EU's Foreign Affairs Chief – the High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy – carry out the Union's Common Foreign and Security Policy. Headquarters are in Brussels and our work extends throughout the world.
Working for the EEAS, together with the Head of Administration and management team you will ensure the smooth running of an EU Delegation in accordance with existing rules and regulations, including the proper management of the administrative budget, human resources, logistics and security.
We are looking for people with experience in day-to-day administration or resources in an NGO context or international organisation, in a multicultural environment in non-EU countries. If you have a service oriented, operational attitude, then this is your chance to continue building your international career with the EU.
To apply for this profile, you will need a completed post-secondary education in business administration, human resources management, finance or accounting.  You should have at least 6 years' professional experience related to the profile, or a completed secondary education and at least 9 years relevant professional experience.
To work for the EEAS as a Head of Administration you need to be a citizen of an EU country with at least 2 EU languages, one of the official EU languages plus a good written and spoken knowledge of English or French. Satisfactory knowledge of Portuguese or Spanish is an asset for this profile.
If recruited you must be willing to accept a first posting in a country where living and security conditions can be difficult. The Delegations are located in countries where French, English, Portuguese and Spanish are most widely spoken.

The European institutions have their own social security and pension scheme.
In addition to the basic salary, you may be entitled to various allowances (expatriation, household, dependent child and education).
