Programme background

The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is a non-denominational, international development agency established in 1967 by His Highness the Aga Khan. Its mission is to develop and promote creative solutions to problems that impede development in marginalized and isolated regions. AKF is working in Tanzania in sectors that include rural development, education, health and civil society strengthening. The Coastal Rural Support Programme Tanzania, CRSP (T) is a multi-input area development initiative of AKF in Lindi and Mtwara regions. The programme’s overall goal is to improve the quality of life and social wellbeing of people in the two regions through sustainable interventions in agriculture and market development, access to finance, health, and education. CRSPT is a large programme with multiple grants being implemented in various sectors of its operations. It has close to 100 staff, most of whom are field based within Mtwara and Lindi regions.

AKF is looking for a dynamic and skilled professional who can take on the role of IT Intern for CRSPT Lindi and Mtwara Office.

Position Summary

The incumbent is expected to perform the day to-day IT duties under the supervision and guidance of the Senior Administration Officer. He or She is responsible to ensure smooth running of daily office IT related activities between Lindi and Mtwara office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General IT Support to Office-based and field-based computer users and visiting user(s) where applicable.

Systems and applications deployment at Agha Khan Foundation – Mtwara and Lindi offices.

Provide training and capacity building to staff as and when needed especially at roll-out of new applications

Maintains system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, networks and operating Systems

Personal Computer /Server Security and Backup – All the Backup should be done to organisation and should remain under Administration custodian

Monitoring and Maintenance of computer systems and networks in all offices include; installations and configurations of computer systems, diagnosing hardware/software faults and solving technical problems, either over the phone, remote desktop service, team viewer or face to face.

Qualifications/Experience:

Recent graduates with advanced diploma or bachelor degree in IT or MIS or any other related program.
Technical knowledge of PC hardware, software, IP networks and computer peripherals.
Excellent spoken and written English.

Ability to work as part of team and follow instructions.
