The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is a world-renowned Institution for teaching, research and services in the field of International Health Development. The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is investing in the Health Promotion and System Strengthening Project (HPSS) in the Dodoma region in the United Republic of Tanzania and has mandated the Swiss Centre for International Health (SClH) of Swiss TPH to implement the project. The project's aim is to improve access to and utilization of health resources and services in Dodoma, Morogoro and Shinyanga regionsfor arriving at an effective and well governed health system. To achieve the above aim, the project has four components: health promotion, health financing, pharmaceutical and health product management, and health technology management. DISTRICT PROJECT ASSISTANT(8 position)
Reporting to: Project Operations Manager
Location: Morogoro (1 GairoDC, 1 Ulanga DC, 1 Kilosa DC, 1 Morogoro DC) Shinyanga (1 Klshapu
1 Shlnyanga DC, 1 Ushetu, 1 Msalala)
Level of Engagement: Full-time

Aim of Job
Assuring functioning and smooth operation of project office
Assisting/supporting District Project Officer in their field work
Assisting/supporting Component Advisors as required
Main Tasks
Administration
Office administrative support including maintaining district office furniture, equipment's
Perform adequately filing of project documents and correspondence in paper and electronic form
Make effective communication; liaise with district counterparts and maintain the positive image of the project.
Manage the project funds and material resources honestly and cost-effectively
Keep district accounts records as required and provide adequate documentation to the Accountant
Maintain petty cash according to set rules if required
Support District Project Officer on follow up of the management of resources/equipment provided to the district and villages counterparts by the project.
Provide logistical support for trainings/workshops, research and consultancy works
Running the office in absence of supervisory staff,
Assist on the execution of the project cross-cutting activities,
Assist the District Project Officer field activities to ensure activity plans are implemented accordingly
Work with District Project Officer on documenting progress/results of field activities
Assist District Project Coordinator and District CHF Management on conducting review of CHF processes at village/hamlet level
Support logistically activities on medicine supply and management such as medicine audit and ILS performance monitoring exercises
Document district progress and provide inputs for the preparation of district and regional activities report
Representing District Project Coordinator at district meeting in case of his/her absence
Support coaching activities to district counterparts, CHF Enrolment Officers, Health Care Workers for effective implementation of their responsibilities
Assist in collecting data for monitoring and evaluation of progress on field,
Qualifications
BA, BSc Social Science, Population Studies, Development Studies, Project Management and Community Development, Social Security Protection, Business Administration, Rural Development and Planning.
1 -2 years' of experience in projects environment
Having experience with working in HPSS project and conducting training on use of Phone for date transfer an added advantage
Understand the functions of district administration and working in rural environment
Have capacity to work with minimum supervision
Proficiency with IMIS and Data processing( such as open medis, IMIS)
Understands Project Cycle Management
