Twiga Bancorp Limited (TBCL) is a fast growing Non-Bank Financial Institution established under the Banking and Financial Institution Act (1991). The Institution has five Branches, two in Oar es Salaam and one each in Arusha, Dodoma and Mwanza. The Institution also operates Sub -Branch activities at the Julius Nyerere International Airport, Kilimanjaro International Airport, Mwalimu Nyerere Memorial Academy in Kigamboni - Dar es Salaam as well as a service outlet in Bunda - Mara Region. The Institution is in the process of managing change by reengineering its organizational structure, introducing new products and services and reinforcing efficiency and professionalism in its operations. The bank has recently migrated to a state-of-the art banking software with the aim of improving it services and product offering.

NATURE OF EMPLOYMENT: Three (3) renewable Terms subject to performance
JOB TITLE: HEAD OF RISK
APPOINTING AUTHORITY: Board of Directors.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief Executive Officer
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES;
Take charge of risk detection, assessment and mitigation strategies ensuring these aspects are embedded
into the operations of the Bank.
Coordinate the Development of Comprehensive Risk Management Program accordance with Bank of
Tanzania Risk management Guideline Works with business units to establish, maintain and continuously improve risk management capabilities
Facilitates enterprise-wide risk assessments and monitors priority risks across the TBCL.
Implements appropriate risk reporting to the CEO, Management and Board of Directors.
Ensures effective alignment between the TBCL process and internal audit and risk financing.
Document risk assessment and supervise thresholds and initiate responses in case of warnings.
Ensuring that the bank's risk framework is in compliance with Bank of Tanzania prudential guideline Basel IInorms
Overall overseer of possible risk
Developing and establishing systems, policies and procedures to identify, control, manage and measure risk
Ensure the Risk Management Programme (RMP) is reviewed at least annually.
Put in place an effective risk management framework which will adequately capture and manage all risks
Twiga Bancorp is exposed to including those arising from introduction of new business products/initiatives.
Put in place various techniques/tools that will enable accurate and timely measurement of risks of both individual transactions and portfolios
Manage execution of various risks mitigation tools like limits, standards, policies and procedures embedded to minimize various types of risks,
Put in place an effective reporting system that will enable timely, accurate and informative monitoring of risk positions and exceptions.
Ensure each principal risk has a risk owner and work closely with each principal risk owner to ensure each risk is effectively managed
Ensure escalation of exceptions or breaches are done on time and any remedial actions are implemented within agreed timeframe.
Do a proper engagement with first line control functions like tellers, credit officers and the like who have closer proximity to the day to day business functions to ensure they have a better understanding of their role in risk management.
Identify and implement training programme for all staff engaged to carry out risk and control management activities.
Performs any other duties as assigned by the CEO
Required Education & Experience:
Holder of Master's degree in Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, Statistics,
Banking or equivalent from a recognized Institution with not less than 9 years working experience in Banking industry 3 of which should be at Senior Managerial level.
Sound knowledge of risk and controls management skills in banking industry.
Fluent communication skills in English (both verbally and in writing)
