 SHIFT COORDINATOR (1 POST)
Lafarge Tanzania (Mbeya Cement Company Limited) is a subsidiary of Lafarge group of companies with its head quarters in Paris France. Lafarge is among the leading companies in building materials and is at the top position on Cement Industry in the world. Lafarge Tanzania is seeking to recruit highly motivated Shift Coordinator to be based in its Mbeya Plant.

Position Reporting: Production Manager

Roles and Responsibilities
Overall in-charge of plant operations from the Quarry to Packing plant during a production operation shift. Fully responsible for co-ordinating, following-up and supervising the operations.
Ensure optimum production of all machineries along the entire process line.
Ensure trouble free plant operations by immediately and personally attending to any problems that arise during a shift.
Abide by all of Mbeya Cement’s Health & Safety standards, carry out VFL’s (Visible Felt Leadership) at Mbeya Cement sites as well as supplier locations, communicate and ensure compliance of the standards
Ensure full attendance of all shift staff and also ensure proper and strict supervision of all shift personnel in their areas of assignment.
Fully answerable and responsible for any plant stoppages and production losses.
Ensure good quality products are produced by strict with follow-up with relevant departments.
Responsible for arresting any fire incident in the plant during the shift by mobilizing and communication with Emergency Team Leader.
Responsible for health and safety of employees/manpower reporting to him during the shift including plant machineries
Responsible for any administrative problems that may occur during the shift.
Fill the ADAP plant incidents in every shift without fail and track the shops reliability, utilization and productivity.
Ensure safety inspection is done properly and the inspection sheet properly filled and submitted to Production Superintendent at the end of the shift.
Ensure proper reporting of the shift operation through e-mail or hard copy and distributing to all concerned parties.
Responsible for refractory work supervision during kiln shutdowns and any breakdown requiring refractory work.

Technical Competencies
Education: Bachelor of Science (Degree) in Engineering (Process, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics) or equivalent and at least 5 – 7 years of experience in Cement Manufacturing OR Full Technician Course (FTC/NTA 7) with at least 10 years experience in the same environment.

Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
Computer literacy
Leadership traits and management skills
Good Communication skills
