Salary: Circa 30,000 GBP per annum net (net salary means that Oxfam GB will meet the tax and social security liabilities of post-holder in addition to net salary)

Are you a food security and livelihoods expert looking to join Oxfam's cadre of world class humanitarian professionals that support our country teams on their responses?
We are looking for a new member to join our roving pool of humanitarian experts in as part of our Emergency Food Security & Vulnerable Livelihoods Response & Resilience Team.
You are fundamental to the work of Oxfam, being a key resource for country teams requesting temporary support to their food security and livelihoods team. This could be in a variety of responses including first phase emergency response to support the scale up of country programmes to meet the needs of evolving slow onset crises. You might be acting in a variety of roles from team leader to food security programme coordinator, providing on the spot technical expertise to start up programmes with emergency cash distributions to support the design of longer term programmes to build the resilience of the chronically vulnerable with social protection and livelihoods programming. Roles can comprise capacity building of national teams, representing Oxfam in external food security for and conducting rapid assessments, supporting proposal development and programme evaluation. Deployments can last from a few weeks to up to 6 months. The most recent deployments have been to Nepal, South Sudan, Tanzania (to support the Burundi crisis), Sierra Leone and Liberia.
You will be both a 'doer' and a strategic thinker, happy to work on all aspects of the project cycle and programming from design to programme strategy. You will be able to deploy at a few hours notice and hit the ground running in any situation in which you are placed. You will be flexible and adaptable to different contexts and teams and be able to lead as well as provide implementation support… You will have considerable multi-country experience in a variety of contexts across the broad range of food and nutrition security and livelihoods programming. This will include familiarity with cash programming, market assessments, livelihoods interventions and social protection. You may have a particular expertise in related areas, including nutrition, urban programming, area of emergency food and nutrition security, slow and rapid onset contexts, preparedness and resilience.
Your position will be home-based but you will be deployed for the majority of your working year. Note that in addition to the salary, the package provides accommodation and expenses paid/per diem for all time spent away from your home base and considerable time off in lieu.
