PLUMBING AND PIPE FITTING ADVISER - MTWARA, TANZANIA

Role overview
The ideal person in this position will work collaboratively with teachers under plumbing workshop within VETA (Vocational Education and Training Authority) in Mtwara to improve the standards of plumbing workshop to meet international standards. She/she will also support other advisors within the project as a team to deliver the objectives of the project. Specifically, she/he will dedicate time to learn and accomplish the learning simulation model within plumbing workshop which is yet to be finalized.

Desired Skills and Experience

Skills, qualifications and experience required
Essential:
- Degree and/or Advance Diploma in Vocational training or QTS certification with particular experience in plumbing, drawing, and mathematics.
- Have at least two years experience in the practical vocational training.
- Experience in installing, repair and maintain plumbing systems and fixtures in residential, commercial, institutional, industrial or public buildings.
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks and waste and drainage systems.
- Experience in management of information systems.

Desirable:
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of working in a developing country.
- Experience in working with poor communities and community institution.

Preference is given to an applicant with background on industrial complex and vocational training experience.
