Tanzania and East Africa region are largely affected by climate change behavior while an average of 80% and citizens their agricultural activities depends on the rain, in due to the above, the multi-stakeholder fromUSAID/Kenya and East Africa conducted a meeting that aimed solve and how to treat that problems.
The Planning for Resilience in East Africa through Policy, Adaption, Research and Economic Development, Program is a medium-term (five years) integrated environmental management program of lake Victoria Basin Commission of the East African Community financed by USAID/Kenya and East Africa. The overall goal of the program is to strengthen the resilience and sustainability of East African economies, trans-boundary freshwater ecosystems and communities through the following three intermediate Results (IRs)
Climate change and adaptation technical capacity, policy leadership and actions of regional institutions improved, Resilient and sustainable management of biologically significant trans-boundary fresh water ecosystems in the EAC region strengthened, Resilient and sustainable drinking water supply, sanitation and waste water treatment services in the Lake Victoria Basin enhanced are the major issues that has been needs to required be provided with solutions in order to achieve the goal of success.
In the meeting some issues such as, appraise stakeholders of the activities being implemented by prepared, review and assess progress of implementation and management activities; streamline and strengthen coordination mechanism of the project among stakeholders and develop strategies and linkages within themselves for enhanced cooperation has been discussed very thoroughly.
